Welcome to Typecast
With Dave, Typecast // Wednesday 13th July, 2011 @ 04:00PM GMT
This Typecast is live.
What does Typecast run on?
~ FayeIt was lovingly built with Ruby on Rails.
~ Dave
When will it come out of beta?
~ FayeIt'll leave beta soon, once some of the kinks have been ironed out and it's been tested a bit further.
~ Dave
What's this page about?
~ ChiefThis is an example of what a Typecast looks like - groups of people can ask and vote up interesting questions.
The host of the Typecast can choose which questions to reply to, and their answers appear automagically on everyone's screens without having to refresh the page over and over.
~ Dave
how many questions can be asked?
~ matt5409To help prevent the Typecast host from being overwhelmed, you can only ever have two questions in the queue at any one time.
Once one of your questions has been answered (or if you delete one) you can ask a new question.
~ Dave
would the plan eventually be to allow people to whitelabel/brand it up...
~ kelvinPotentially - I think it could be interesting to have something similar to YouTube's branded channels going. I'm planning Pro features which should make Typecast more useful to companies in particular - like a better control of branding, and (importantly) allowing a team of people to answer questions instead of just the one host.
~ Dave
Can you make typecasts private?
~ richardtvaughanI like your thinking! You can't have private Typecasts just yet, but I'm planning on including that as a Pro feature, it sounds like it could be pretty useful.
~ Dave
| Would it be possible (as a host) to invite someone else to contribute to answers. e.g. As a teacher I invite a special guest who will answer the questions my students pose? |
| Can you skin the typecast pages? |
